Well, I’m pretty sure this news just cured my seasonal depression. YAY DRYDOWN!

Yay! Could you make it possible for new people to pay for subscriptions? I would happily do it to access the backlog but it's not possible right now I don't think.

Oh frabjulous day, The Dry Down is back! So much love and solidarity to the person who wrote in about scent and transitioning, as a trans guy who went through that and is still trying to find himself scent-wise again (especially since starting hormones, if you choose to take that option, changes your Natural Funk™️). <3

I am a person with absolutely no interest in perfume and I love this newsletter so much. I have a vivid memory of reading your (beautiful) essay on Giorgio in 2019, having just moved my family to Philly, while sitting downstairs in a state of total panic about whether or not our new sectional would fit up the stairs. (It took an hour of extreme stress, but it did.) I am deeply happy to see y'all back on here.

I'm really interested in the historical aspect of the scents you talk about. Do you have any recommendations for books or other resources that describe scents from the early 70s? It might be useful for a thing I'm writing. Thank you!

So glad you're back! Seconding Cuir Cuba, a masterpiece. I love that A Goodnight Kiss was your wedding scent--it's a fave but as it is ridic pricey I've never owned it. I love a violet 'fume. And yes, thirding that gender means nothing in perfume!! Wear all the things.
